Octavian, 44-27 BC. Denarius (Silver, 20 mm, 3.64 g, 12 h), Italian mint (Rome?), autumn 31 BC-summer 30 BC. Winged bust of Victory to right. Rev. CAESAR - DIVI•F Octavian, nude but for cloak with parazonium at his side, standing front, head to left, placing his right foot on large globe set on ground and holding aplustre in his right hand and long scepter in his left. BMC 615. Cohen 60. RIC 256. Fresh and lustrous, and with a lovely rendering of Victory. Struck from slighty worn dies, otherwise, virtually as struck.
